The company was founded in 1976 in the heart of Faubourg St. Antoine, the birthplace of the art of fine cabinet making in Paris. Specialising in decorative wood items the manufacture is very famous in the French market, and the world over, and builds pieces for many of the most famous luxury houses in Paris. In 2009 Elie Bleu was bestowed the State honour of using the prestigious label "Entreprises du Patrimoine Vivant" ("Living Heritage Company").
